2016-08-29: It’s Been 50 Years Since The Beatles Final Concert | Radio.com (com áudio)

It’s Been 50 Years Since The Beatles Final Concert « Radio.com

Interessante a versão do "If I Needed Someone" de GH (#3 no set list) e o chatter entre as músicas.

"Lennon took particular delight in making vaguely obscene alterations to their song lyrics ("I Wanna Hold Your Gland")"

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-33751060 (notícia de 2015-08-02 na BBC).
Citando:
""I am so sad and shocked by news about my good friend Cilla," tweeted Dame Joan Collins. "She was a resplendent and rare talent."
"Such a shock to hear about Cilla's passing," said Sir Paul McCartney. "She was a lovely girl who infected everyone with her great spirit.
"From first meeting her as a cloak room girl at the Cavern in Liverpool, to seeing her many times since, she always had a fun-loving dignity that made her a great pleasure to be around.""

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3759115/John-Lennon-handed-biggest-scoop-pop-history-blew-writer-closest-Beatles-confession-make.html

Citando:
"We were in Canada when John Lennon told me he’d left The Beatles. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
It was just before Christmas 1969, and a few nights earlier, while discussing his Beatles’ song lyrics on the phone, he’d suddenly invited me to join him and Yoko in Toronto, where he was going to meet Canada’s Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
So, there I soon was being driven through snow-covered Canadian fields to the home of rock singer Ronnie Hawkins, where John and Yoko were staying."
(A dapted from The Ray Connolly Beatles Archive, now available in paperback from Plumray Books. )

"How dare you fucking do this to us?"

http://www.mojo4music.com/24527/beatles-toured-say-paul-ringo/

Citando:
"The cover story is part of a deluxe MOJO package that includes a CD of songs the Beatles played in their formative shows and two art prints that reproduce classic Beatles gig posters, all housed in a card sleeve.
Other unmissable Beatle elements include: Mark Lewisohn and Klaus Voormann on the Beatles’ Hamburg live onslaught; Giles Martin on the restoration of The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl album; Larry Kane risking life and limb in the Fabs’ cavalcade of chaos in 1964 and 1965; Jon Savage revisits the band’s underexplored farewell to UK stages; plus insiders recall the strong weed and lethal stages of the Beatles’ US 1966 swansong."

1966-08-15: The Beatles release Revolver – archive, 15 August 1966 | Music | The Guardian

The Beatles release Revolver – archive, 15 August 1966 | Music | The Guardian

Citando o The Guardian (EN, RU) e a Amazon:
  • The Beatles: A Band Reviewed - a selection of the Guardian and Observer’s reporting on the Beatles from the last 50 years - is now available as an ebook.
  • In 1960, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best first played together as The Beatles. On 5 October 1962, The Beatles – with Sutcliffe and Best out and Ringo Starr in – released their debut single, ‘Love Me Do’. The subsequent seven years saw them revolutionise Sixties music and leave their mark indelibly stamped right through pop culture.
  • ‘The Beatles: A Band Reviewed’ tells the story of The Beatles through the news items, reviews and interviews that appeared in two of Britain’s most respected newspapers. From the heyday of Beatlemania and the groundbreaking albums to the mixed successes of the solo years, it covers the key events. It also includes lesser well-known stories, such as that of Victor Keegan, a Guardian reporter, who received hundreds of phone calls, night and day, from people asking if they could speak to “Sgt J Pepper”. As fresh and revolutionary as the time in which they were written, this unique writing from the actual gigs and events that defined The Beatles is a unique and poignant history.

http://m.chron.com/local/history/major-stories-events/article/

PS.

Citando:
"At a news conference that afternoon, Lennon said, "We haven't seen much of Texas. We've only seen Dallas and here (Houston) and nearly got killed both times." Asked if the Beatles knew that Houston was home to the U.S. space program, Lennon said, "You see one space shot, you've seen them all."
The Beatles performed the same 12 songs at both shows: "Twist and Shout," "Baby's in Black," "She's a Woman," "I Feel Fine," "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," "Ticket to Ride," "Everybody's Tryin' to Be My Baby," "Can't Buy Me Love," "I Wanna Be Your Man," "A Hard Day's Night," "Help!" and "I'm Down."
Thirty-five minutes on and off the stage. The afternoon concert drew 10,000 fans. The evening show was a sellout, with 12,000 fans. By 11 p.m., the Beatles were off to their next concert in Chicago. The group never returned to Texas.
