Is it normal that a band that ended on 1970 still gets radio airplay and frequent references in the social media almost every day here in Europe? This is a very personal and somewhat infomal logbook of some of these references to The Beatles as a proof of their everlasting relevance and continuing influence over the years. As if they needed. Also includes highlights of promotions and some additional info on the band. Mainly in Portuguese (sorry guys).

2019-09: Novo álbum e novo livro de Ringo
https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-49991164
Citando:
"The star was speaking ahead of the release of his latest book, Another Day In The Life, which is the third in a series of collections of his own photographs - charting his life from childhood up to recent tours with his current group The All-Starr Band.
The band also play alongside Ringo on his new album, his twentieth, entitled What's My Name?
It sees the drummer working with a huge cast of collaborators including The Eagles' Joe Walsh, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' keyboardist Benmont Tench and, on the song Grow Old With Me, his former bandmate Sir Paul McCartney.
"It's the best. I love playing with him," Ringo says of teaming up with his old friend. "We played a lot together in 'that band' and he's still in the most melodic player. He's still incredible, for me, I feel the emotion when plays.""

2019-09: About Sun King
Some interesting comments of Lennon on Sun King. The song has one word of Portuguese (which John Lennon didn't knew of, but Paul McCartney knew - because he was in Algarve in vacations and wrote the words for Yesterday there during the trip from Lisbon):

Era do Abbey Road e era...

Citando:
"John followed that by saying “Oh! Darling” was more in his style than Paul’s. But he acknowledged that they didn’t operate that way (i.e., taking one another’s songs to sing). “He wrote it, so what the hell, he’s going to sing it,” John said.
He then offered up another line that makes his 1980 Playboy interviews must-read material. “If he’d had any sense, he should have let me sing it,” John said."

2019-09: Paul McCartney sobre o trabalho de Linda
https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2019/jun/26/paul-mccartney-on-lindas-best-photos-seeing-the-joy-between-me-and-john-really-helped-me
Citando:
"‘I always used to joke that I ruined Linda’s career,” says Paul McCartney, sitting on a sofa in his office in Soho, London, with a selection of his late wife’s photographs spread on the table before him. “She became known as ‘Paul’s wife’, instead of the focus being on her photography. But, as time went on, people started to realise that she was the real thing. So, yeah, she eventually did get the correct reputation, but at first it was just blown out of the water by the headline-grabbing marriage.”"

Citando:
" Harrison was miserable from frame one to frame 500,” says Ethan Russell. “He was so over it. I don’t think he did anything but scowl for three hours.” The photographer is recalling the day he unknowingly took the last ever shot of the Beatles together. It was 22 August 1969, and they were all at John Lennon’s countryside estate near Ascot."

Grandes novidades gravadas? Ao estilo de fly on the wall do Let it Be naked?
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/sep/11/the-beatles-break-up-mark-lewisohn-abbey-road-hornsey-road
Citando (um exemplo super interessante de coisas que dizemos quando ninguém está a ouvir):
"Then Paul – sounding, shall we say, relaxed – responds to the news that George now has equal standing as a composer with John and himself by muttering something mildly provocative. “I thought until this album that George’s songs weren’t that good,” he says, which is a pretty double-edged compliment since the earlier compositions he’s implicitly disparaging include Taxman and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. There’s a nettled rejoinder from George: “That’s a matter of taste. All down the line, people have liked my songs.”"
