2018-09: Quão difícil foi terminar o White Album?

Bastante, aparentemente, pelo relato do livro de George Martin (parte 2):
https://www.salon.com/2018/09/09/the-beatles-struggle-to-finish-the-white-album-how-bad-did-it-get/

Citando:
"And that’s when George chimed in, offering advice to the Beatle about rephrasing his vocals. “Paul, can you try rephrasing the last line of each verse?” George asked. To Geoff’s ears, the Beatles’ producer was adopting the same “gentle, slightly aristocratic voice” that he had always deployed in his dealings with the Beatles. Geoff couldn’t help admiring the older man, later lauding him for “still trying to do his job, still trying to steer his charges toward increased musical sophistication and help push them to their best performances.” But Emerick wasn’t prepared for McCartney’s curt response: “If you think you can do it better, why don’t you fucking come down here and sing it yourself?” The engineer sat there in the booth, dumbstruck by Paul’s tone. “What happened next shocked me to the core,” Emerick later wrote. “In sheer frustration, quiet, low-key George Martin actually began shouting back at Paul. ‘Then bloody sing it again!’ he yelled over the talkback, causing me to wince. ‘I give up. I just don’t know any better how to help you.’ It was the first time I had ever heard George Martin raise his voice in a session. The silence following the outburst was equally deafening.”"

2018-08: Livro de Womack fala de amuo de George Martin

... durante as gravações do White AlbumGeorge Martin Was ‘Frozen Out’ of Beatles’ White Album Sessions

Citando:
"Womack said he’d spoken to sound engineers and tape operators for his book Sound Pictures: The Life of Beatles Producer George Martin, the Later Years, 1966–2016. “I asked them what George was doing when John [Lennon] was playing a particular guitar part or when Ringo [Starr] was working on some drum part,” Womack told the Guardian. “They would say, ‘Nothing, he was in the back of the booth, reading newspapers, sharing his chocolate with us.’ He was on a kind of a chocolate-and-newspaper strike.”

The author said that, along with the Epstein tragedy, the falling-out “also had a lot to do with a Time magazine article in 1967 where George was credited with being this wunderkind and the mastermind behind Sgt Pepper. “They didn’t take very well to that and let him know,” Womack added. “I do think this was the beginning of this struggle over ‘Who’s the genius behind the Beatles?’ This was payback for taking credit for the Beatles myth. … But they coaxed him back for Abbey Road [in 1969].”

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5507031/Widow-fifth-Beatle-calls-police-burgled.html

Citando:
"The widow of ‘fifth Beatle’ Sir George Martin locked herself in the bathroom in terror as masked burglars forced their way into her home.

Judy Martin, 89, dialled 999 after discovering two intruders at her house in an Oxfordshire village. Uniformed officers arrived with sirens blaring within minutes, forcing the pair to flee empty-handed.

Despite support from a police helicopter with a thermal imaging camera, the suspects escaped and remain on the run.

One line of inquiry is that the intruders thought priceless Beatles memorabilia was in the house."

2017-10-11: Alan Parsons fala de George Martin e do Let it Be

http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/music/862547/alan-parsons-project-eye-in-the-sky-the-beatles-pink-floyd

Citando:
"He is the go-to producer for established artists who crave his authentic, warm and detailed sound on their recordings.

This is no surprise given that he learned his trade under the tutelage of the late, great Sir George Martin.

He is famous for his deft influence on the sound of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and The Beatles' Abbey Road and Let It Be albums.

Parsons and his songwriting partner Eric Woolfson achieved major success in the own right with The Alan Parsons Project, selling more than 60 million albums.

And with the 35th-anniversary release of The Alan Parsons Project seminal album Eye In The Sky, Parsons grants Express.co.uk a rare and exclusive interview."

https://www.wired.com/2017/03/remastering-one-beatles-live-album-finally-made-great/

Citando:
"THE BEATLES’ REMARKABLE catalog includes just one official live album, and the group’s immense popularity made it unlistenable. The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, recorded in 1964 and 1965 but not released until 1977, was always a frustrating listen. Try as you might, you simply cannot hear much music above the fan-belt squeal of 10,000 Beatlemaniacs.
You can’t blame the Fab Four, nor their legendary producer George Martin. Martin did what he could with the three-track tapes, but the limitations of 1970s technology did little to elevate the music above the din. Boosting the high frequencies—the snap of Ringo Starr’s hi-hat, the shimmer and chime of George Harrison’s guitar—only made the racket made by all those fans even louder.
All of which makes the remastered version of Live at the Hollywood Bowl especially impressive. The do-over, which coincided with the August release of Ron Howard’s documentary film Eight Days a Week, squeezes astonishing clarity out of the source tapes. You can finally hear an exceptionally tight band grinding out infectious blues-based rock propelled by a driving beat, wailing guitars, and raspy vocals. This album never sounded so lucid, present, or weighty."

2016-03-08: Sir George Martin, Beatles producer, dead at 90 - CNN.com

A piece of the Beatles, one of the 5th Beatle, died yesterday, as announced via Twitter by Ringo Starr (curiously it was not done by Giles). Sad day. Today I'm using the T-Shirt (below the suit):

2015-10-24: Beatles referidos no A Contar (Antena 1)
