1968: Os Beatles e Lord of the Rings?

Sim!!! Mas não, não se concretizou. Peter Jackson, que fez os filmes anos mais tarde, explica:
"It has been suggested that had the movie got the green light, it would have seen McCartney as Frodo, Starr as Sam, Lennon as Gollum and Harrison as Gandalf. The Beatles' choice of director? Stanley Kubrick, fresh from making 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Jackson does not refute these suggestions. "Apparently," he says, adding, "Paul couldn't remember exactly when I spoke to him, but I believe that is the case."

He also acknowledges how different his own life might have been if The Beatles had already made The Lord of The Rings.

"Paul said, 'Well I'm glad we didn't do it, because you got to do yours and I liked your film.' But I said to him, 'Well, it's a shame you didn't do it, because it would have been a musical.'"

2021-11: The ostracized George?

 ... Hum... Yes.
https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/peter-jacksons-the-beatles-get-back-will-show-ostracized-george-harrison.html/

Quoting:
"“The strain of ‘Let It Be’ was actually the strain that [John and Paul] put on George and Ringo by trying to force themselves together, and the strain of doing a live show with no songs in two-and-a-half weeks’ time. What I can get [from the outtakes] is that George was being ostracised slightly during ‘Let It Be.’

“Because he had all these songs [which eventually became his sprawling 1970 solo album ‘All Things Must Pass’] but you hear John refer to him as ‘Harrisongs’ – he’s got his own publishing deal and he’s come as a songwriter. It’s like, ‘Oh – we should give George a song.’

“At this stage, George was writing way more than John was. I think John had some sort of writers’ block – he doesn’t have a huge amount of songs on ‘Let It Be.’ I think the attention [John and Paul] were giving one another – almost like they were trying to rekindle their relationship – ostracised George, to a certain degree.”"

2021-11: Sobre o novo documentário dos Beatles...

And...

Citando:
"I was thinking, is this going to really spoil my view of the Beatles? Am I going to see them squabbling with each other and argue? Am I going to see the dark side of the Beatles?" Jackson rhetorically asked Wertheim. "You can only watch something in real time… there's 57 hours it takes to watch it all. And so, I was just waiting. But as it as it went on and on, I was getting more and more confident that this is not going happen."

Jackson then did something he said he had never done before. The decorated filmmaker asked to have the job of producing the new documentary.

For many Beatles' fans, the album and film "Let it Be" are tethered to the band's breakup. Jackson found the 22 days' worth of footage depicts four friends collaborating and called it "an incredibly amazing historical document of the Beatles at work." "

2021-11: participação de membros dos Beatles em música redescoberta

Citando:
"Beginning with a pealing riff from Harrison and underpinned by a steady backbeat from Starr, the song features Hindi-language vocals by singer Aashish Khan, but gives plenty of space for both Beatles to add highly distinctive playing. Harrison delivers a long, searching and joyous guitar solo, while Starr adds his characteristic drum rolls and fills.

Joshi rediscovered the recording at his home during lockdown. “It was lost and found many times … suddenly the lockdown was a blessing in disguise,” he told BBC Merseyside, where the song received its first play.

Joshi said he met Harrison at the studio because, as an Indian, “I stood out like a sore thumb … we started talking about philosophy in general.” Harrison’s interest in Indian culture had been deepened by the Beatles’ trip to Rishikesh earlier in 1968, where, led by Harrison, they studied transcendental meditation.

Harrison divulged to Joshi the friction that was already appearing in the band ahead of their 1969 split: “He said he was the underdog … that he had lost his confidence.”"

2021-11: Maureen Cleave, British journalist who championed the Beatles...

More popular than... Jesus?

Quoting:
"Maureen Cleave, British journalist who championed the Beatles, dies aged 87
After befriending the band, Cleave influenced their lyrics and prompted John Lennon’s infamous comment that they were ‘more popular than Jesus'" (...)
"Her most famous encounter came with John Lennon in 1966, who told her: “Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now. I don’t know which will go first, rock’n’roll or Christianity.” His statements outraged God-fearing Americans and damaged the band’s popularity – after their tour of the States later that year, they never toured in the US again. Lennon later wrote: “If I hadn’t said the Beatles were ‘bigger than Jesus’ … well, Lord, I might still be up there with all the other performing fleas.”"

2021-11: David Crosby (CSN) and...

... A Day in the the Life:

https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/david-crosby-the-beatles-song-left-him-stupefied/?amp

Citando:
""The best thing that ever happened to me was visiting The Beatles when they were making Sgt. Pepper,” he began. “I came in and I was very high. They sat me down on a stool in the middle of the studio and rolled up two six-foot-tall speakers on either side of me. Then, laughing, they climbed the stairs back to the control room and left me there. And then they played ‘A Day in the Life.’ At the end of that last chord, my brains just ran out my nose onto the floor in a puddle. I didn’t know what to do, I was just stupefied.”

That final, enormous E Major is one of the most famous chords in popular music. It was recorded as a replacement for the vocal section that had originally sat in its place but which was felt to be unsuitable. On February 22nd, 1967 – each seated at separate grand pianos – Lennon, McCartney, Starr and Mal Evans all played a resonant E Major chord at the same time, with George Martin doing the same on harmonium. Behind the glass, the studio engineers pushed the recording level as high as possible and kept the tape running as the chord dissipated, allowing the reverberations to gradually decay. What the listener is left with is a 40-second drone that slowly dissolves into the walls of Abbey Road studios. The sound is so complex and so full of overtones (naturally occurring harmonies) that the brain is at a loss to work out how to disentangle the web of sound that it has been confronted with. No wonder Crosby was left speechless."
