It’s Been 50 Years Since The Beatles Final Concert « Radio.com
Interessante a versão do "If I Needed Someone" de GH (#3 no set list) e o chatter entre as músicas.
Is it normal that a band that ended on 1970 still gets radio airplay and frequent references in the social media almost every day here in Europe? This is a very personal and somewhat infomal logbook of some of these references to The Beatles as a proof of their everlasting relevance and continuing influence over the years. As if they needed. Also includes highlights of promotions and some additional info on the band. Mainly in Portuguese (sorry guys).

"We were in Canada when John Lennon told me he’d left The Beatles. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
It was just before Christmas 1969, and a few nights earlier, while discussing his Beatles’ song lyrics on the phone, he’d suddenly invited me to join him and Yoko in Toronto, where he was going to meet Canada’s Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
So, there I soon was being driven through snow-covered Canadian fields to the home of rock singer Ronnie Hawkins, where John and Yoko were staying."

Citando o The Guardian (EN, RU) e a Amazon:
- The Beatles: A Band Reviewed - a selection of the Guardian and Observer’s reporting on the Beatles from the last 50 years - is now available as an ebook.
- In 1960, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best first played together as The Beatles. On 5 October 1962, The Beatles – with Sutcliffe and Best out and Ringo Starr in – released their debut single, ‘Love Me Do’. The subsequent seven years saw them revolutionise Sixties music and leave their mark indelibly stamped right through pop culture.
- ‘The Beatles: A Band Reviewed’ tells the story of The Beatles through the news items, reviews and interviews that appeared in two of Britain’s most respected newspapers. From the heyday of Beatlemania and the groundbreaking albums to the mixed successes of the solo years, it covers the key events. It also includes lesser well-known stories, such as that of Victor Keegan, a Guardian reporter, who received hundreds of phone calls, night and day, from people asking if they could speak to “Sgt J Pepper”. As fresh and revolutionary as the time in which they were written, this unique writing from the actual gigs and events that defined The Beatles is a unique and poignant history.

http://m.chron.com/local/history/major-stories-events/article/
PS.
Citando:
"At a news conference that afternoon, Lennon said, "We haven't seen much of Texas. We've only seen Dallas and here (Houston) and nearly got killed both times." Asked if the Beatles knew that Houston was home to the U.S. space program, Lennon said, "You see one space shot, you've seen them all."
The Beatles performed the same 12 songs at both shows: "Twist and Shout," "Baby's in Black," "She's a Woman," "I Feel Fine," "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," "Ticket to Ride," "Everybody's Tryin' to Be My Baby," "Can't Buy Me Love," "I Wanna Be Your Man," "A Hard Day's Night," "Help!" and "I'm Down."
Thirty-five minutes on and off the stage. The afternoon concert drew 10,000 fans. The evening show was a sellout, with 12,000 fans. By 11 p.m., the Beatles were off to their next concert in Chicago. The group never returned to Texas.
