Is it normal that a band that ended on 1970 still gets radio airplay and frequent references in the social media almost every day here in Europe? This is a very personal and somewhat infomal logbook of some of these references to The Beatles as a proof of their everlasting relevance and continuing influence over the years. As if they needed. Also includes highlights of promotions and some additional info on the band. Mainly in Portuguese (sorry guys).

2021-11: The ostracized George?
“Because he had all these songs [which eventually became his sprawling 1970 solo album ‘All Things Must Pass’] but you hear John refer to him as ‘Harrisongs’ – he’s got his own publishing deal and he’s come as a songwriter. It’s like, ‘Oh – we should give George a song.’
“At this stage, George was writing way more than John was. I think John had some sort of writers’ block – he doesn’t have a huge amount of songs on ‘Let It Be.’ I think the attention [John and Paul] were giving one another – almost like they were trying to rekindle their relationship – ostracised George, to a certain degree.”"

2021-01: Phil Spector (producer) dies at 80
Some of Spector’s critics, including Paul McCartney, were unimpressed with his string-heavy treatment of tracks such as “The Long and Winding Road.” But McCartney’s bandmates were happier with Spector’s work. George Harrison not only asked Spector to produce his triple-album, All Things Must Pass, but Lennon brought him on to co-produce The Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, albums that had an uncharacteristically spare sound for Spector. Fittingly, Lennon also had Spector, the creator of the greatest rock Christmas album of all time, produce his single “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).”

2019-02: As discussões em Let it be
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6658955/Beatles-war-truth-explosive-rivalries-tore-band-apart.html
Citando:
"We'll be faced with a crisis,' Paul frets.
'When I'm up against the wall, Paul, you'll find me at my best. I think I've got Sunday off,' says John.
'I hope you can deliver.'
'I hope was a little rock and roller, Sammy with his mammy,' mocks John, falling into word play.
There was nothing more that Paul could say.
'I think we've been very negative since Mr Epstein passed away,' Paul reflected, probably to director Michael Lindsay-Hogg, unaware that he was being recorded. 'We probably do need a central daddy figure to say, 'Come on. It's nine o'clock. Leave the girls at home.' '
But John wasn't going to leave his new girl at home. So, Paul was walking on eggshells, acutely aware of what might happen if he, or the others, complained too loudly.
'There are only two things to do,' we hear him reasoning. 'One is to fight and to get The Beatles back to being four people without Yoko, and to ask her to sit down at board meetings. The other is just to accept that she's there, because there is no way that John is going to split with Yoko for our sakes. He's going overboard. He always goes overboard.
'If it came to the push between Yoko and The Beatles it would be John for Yoko. John would just say to us: 'Okay. I'll see you then.' And we're not wanting that to happen.'"

2017-10-11: Alan Parsons fala de George Martin e do Let it Be

Citando:
"He is the go-to producer for established artists who crave his authentic, warm and detailed sound on their recordings.
This is no surprise given that he learned his trade under the tutelage of the late, great Sir George Martin.
He is famous for his deft influence on the sound of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and The Beatles' Abbey Road and Let It Be albums.
Parsons and his songwriting partner Eric Woolfson achieved major success in the own right with The Alan Parsons Project, selling more than 60 million albums.
And with the 35th-anniversary release of The Alan Parsons Project seminal album Eye In The Sky, Parsons grants Express.co.uk a rare and exclusive interview."

"The 2000 WGBH miniseries Communism: The Promise and the Reality features a brief clip of this mysterious video, although unfortunately not much information about it is supplied. It pops up in “People Power,” the final part of the six-part series, about 14 minutes in (you can check it out below). After discussing the strong demand in the USSR for banned western goods such as blue jeans, the voiceover says, “But occasionally the authorities made an effort to cater to the tastes of the new generation….” and we get to see the start of the video. They translate the opening lines thus:
Everything’s happened before in the world
People are always the same
That’s how it was, it is, and always will be
Apparently the religiously tinged references to “Mother Mary” were also expunged, which can’t be too surprising"
