"Harrison was anxious to work with Spector, having stockpiled nearly 30 songs for a solo album. And unlike The Beatles producer, Spector was overwhelmed by the maturity, the majesty and the diversity of the material presented to him. “It was endless,” Spector recalled. “He had literally hundreds of songs and each one was better than the rest. He had all this emotion built up when it was released to me”.

In written correspondence, Spector noted the “buried” vocals, the lack of “wailing sax”, not forgetting the trademark orchestral flourishes Spector was known for adding to pieces. What comes across most notably is Spector’s admiration for Harrison’s vocal prowess, perhaps feeling that he had been underserved by the albums in The Beatles canon."

"When The Beatles released Abbey Road, on 26 September 1969, it was not met with universal admiration. Some reviews were somewhat critical… even some fans were confused. For some it is considered The Beatles’ very best work – not least Booker T Jones, who, with The MGs, paid homage to Abbey Road album on their 1970 album, McLemore Avenue. 2014-09-19: "JL alike" na série 2 dos Monty Python

Na série 2 dos Monty Python, episódio 24 (OK é 1970!) há uma referência por uns segundos ao John Lennon. Aparece o Eric Idle caracterizado de JL a dizer: "I'm starting a war for peace!". É uma referência na linha do "War is over, if you want it" da altura de maior activismo do JL no final dos anos 60.

Esta é a segunda aparição dos Beatles na série contando com a presença do Ringo Starr no final de um episódio que já aqui foi referida em (bons e velhos?) tempos.

Curiosidade final: É nesta mesma segunda série que há uma referência ao Português num cartaz "On parle Portugais" mostrado por segundos no início de um sketch.
