Is it normal that a band that ended on 1970 still gets radio airplay and frequent references in the social media almost every day here in Europe? This is a very personal and somewhat infomal logbook of some of these references to The Beatles as a proof of their everlasting relevance and continuing influence over the years. As if they needed. Also includes highlights of promotions and some additional info on the band. Mainly in Portuguese (sorry guys).

2019-04: My Love (review)
https://www.stereogum.com/2037458/the-number-ones-paul-mccartney-wings-my-love/franchises/the-number-ones/
Citando:
"“My Love” does have a sense of majesty, almost despite itself. It chugs and twinkles with the slow confidence of an old torch song, while the orchestra, arranged by McCartney’s old Beatles collaborator George Martin, swells and contracts. Wings guitarist Henry McCollough, late of Spooky Tooth and the Grease Band, plays a nicely twangy solo. (He improvised it on the spot because he didn’t like the solo that McCartney had written for him, and McCartney ended up loving what he did with it. Later in 1973, McCollough would end up quitting Wings the day they were supposed to go to Nigeria to record Band On The Run.)"

2018-11: Documentário sobre o Imagine
Sobre o recente documentário sobre o Imagine:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2018/11/24/john-yoko-us-sky-review-lennons-message-peace-love-people-power/
Citando:
"The spirit of revolution was alive and well in John & Yoko: Above Us Only Sky (Channel 4), a documentary celebrating John Lennon’s peace, love and occasionally anger-laden album Imagine and, in particular, the much-admired title track.
This wasn’t so much the untold story of the making of a classic album as a fascinating addendum to an iconic story which had already been told in the companion film released by Lennon, Yoko Ono and director Steve Gebhardt in 1972, and fleshed out even more in Andrew Solt’s tribute Gimme Some Truth."

https://www.publico.pt/2018/09/21/culturaipsilon/noticia/paul-mccartney-e-um-historico-mas-ainda-nao-passou-a-historia-1844400
Citando:

2018-09: NBC News review of PM new album
https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/paul-mccartney-s-new-album-egyptian-station-highlights-ex-beatle-ncna909466
Citando:
"Obviously, medleys existed before McCartney began exploring them in depth in the late ‘60s, but they mostly fell into two categories: extremely similar songs being performed as one — like Little Richard’s “Kansas City / Hey Hey Hey Hey” (later covered by the Beatles) — or in suites inspired by musical theater or operatic traditions (like in “West Side Story”). McCartney’s innovation, alongside co-conspirators John Lennon and producer George Martin, was to weave together pop songs that were compositionally and narratively separate but thematically linked. As seen on the opening and closing salvos of “Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,” these mutant song structures built blooming fictional worlds and corralled the increasingly divergent writing styles of Lennon and McCartney."

2018-09: Crítica ao Álbum Novo de Paul McCartney
E as críticas (reviews) começam a aparecer:
https://www.omelete.com.br/musica/criticas/paul-mccartney-egypt-station
Citando:

https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/theatre-news/lennons-banjo-show-swift-need-14589767
"It wasn’t terrible, there’s a fascinating story at its heart and it has the potential to be a great caper.
But somebody needs to take a big red pen to the script of Lennon’s Banjo before it can become a staple of the city’s extra curricular Beatles offerings - and soon.
Based on the book Julia’s Banjo, this deals with the much sought-after instrument once owned by John Lennon’s mother, the one she used to teach her son the wonders that be unlocked from finding the right chords. A good job she did too. It’s still out there somewhere and worth millions to the finder."
