http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/inside-beatles-rare-strawberry-fields-forever-first-take-w450580

Citando:
"This was a version approaching proto-metal. Lennon couldn't decide if he wanted to go the ethereal route, or the stomping one, and famously told George Martin to combine the two versions. This was less than practical.

"Well, there are two things against it," Martin informed Lennon. "One is that they're in different keys. The other is that they're in different tempos."

But for a man who had started his most personal, honest musical journey, within the parameters of a single song, back in Spain, this was merely part of the process.

"You can fix it, George," Lennon concluded, and that was that, with Martin now tasked with finding a solution to a problem that seemingly violated the laws of musical physics."

2017-03-18: RIP Chuck Berry, author of some well known tunes

... some of them, covered and played for years live by the Beatles:
https://www.yahoo.com/music/covering-chuck-berry-legendary-artists-from-the-beatles-to-the-boss-pay-homage-153236733.html

Long Tall Sally, Rock and Roll Music, Roll Over Beethoven, Come On, Maybelline, ...

Citando:
"Even after they made their mark on the world with their own music, The Beatles continue to sing Chuck Berry’s praises. John Lennon once said, “If you tried to give rock ‘n’ roll another name, you might call it ‘Chuck Berry,” In addition to including “Roll Over Beethoven” in many of their early sets, they recorded a studio version of the track, which became the opener of their 1964 album The Beatles’ Second Album."

Citando:
"I’m a Beatles fan,” he told Rolling Stone in 1976. “When John [Lennon] was saying a couple of years ago that it was all crap, it was all a dream, I know what he was talking about – but at the same time I was sitting there thinking, ‘No it wasn’t.’ It was as much a dream as anything else is; as much crap as anything else is. In fact, it was less crap than a lot of other stuff.”"

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/remembering-beatles-final-concert-w436179

PS.
"Lennon took particular delight in making vaguely obscene alterations to their song lyrics ("I Wanna Hold Your Gland")"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3759115/John-Lennon-handed-biggest-scoop-pop-history-blew-writer-closest-Beatles-confession-make.html

Citando:
"We were in Canada when John Lennon told me he’d left The Beatles. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
It was just before Christmas 1969, and a few nights earlier, while discussing his Beatles’ song lyrics on the phone, he’d suddenly invited me to join him and Yoko in Toronto, where he was going to meet Canada’s Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
So, there I soon was being driven through snow-covered Canadian fields to the home of rock singer Ronnie Hawkins, where John and Yoko were staying."
(A dapted from The Ray Connolly Beatles Archive, now available in paperback from Plumray Books. )

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/beatles-revolver-how-lsd-opened-the-door-to-a-masterpiece-w436062

PS.
"How dare you fucking do this to us?"

http://m.chron.com/local/history/major-stories-events/article/

PS.

Citando:
"At a news conference that afternoon, Lennon said, "We haven't seen much of Texas. We've only seen Dallas and here (Houston) and nearly got killed both times." Asked if the Beatles knew that Houston was home to the U.S. space program, Lennon said, "You see one space shot, you've seen them all."
The Beatles performed the same 12 songs at both shows: "Twist and Shout," "Baby's in Black," "She's a Woman," "I Feel Fine," "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," "Ticket to Ride," "Everybody's Tryin' to Be My Baby," "Can't Buy Me Love," "I Wanna Be Your Man," "A Hard Day's Night," "Help!" and "I'm Down."
Thirty-five minutes on and off the stage. The afternoon concert drew 10,000 fans. The evening show was a sellout, with 12,000 fans. By 11 p.m., the Beatles were off to their next concert in Chicago. The group never returned to Texas.
