Is it normal that a band that ended on 1970 still gets radio airplay and frequent references in the social media almost every day here in Europe? This is a very personal and somewhat infomal logbook of some of these references to The Beatles as a proof of their everlasting relevance and continuing influence over the years. As if they needed. Also includes highlights of promotions and some additional info on the band. Mainly in Portuguese (sorry guys).

Citando:
"Sir Paul has been famous since he was a teenager, so has hardly had an ordinary life. Nevertheless, his official biographer Barry Miles – who is working on The People’s Beatles Project, which aims to crowdsource an archive of Beatles’ fan pictures – claims “He desperately wanted to be a normal person. Wherever possible he would take a bus somewhere…and was very anxious to stay in touch with what he regarded as ordinary people.” The writer and friend of the Beatle even recounted an incident just a couple of years ago when Sir Paul thought you could still buy a bottle of whisky for two quid."

Reflecting on his writing partnership with Lennon, Macca said: “I would go to his house, he would come to mine and every single time we sat down, we came away with a song. The closest to failure was Drive My Car but we pulled it out."

2019-04: My Love (review)
https://www.stereogum.com/2037458/the-number-ones-paul-mccartney-wings-my-love/franchises/the-number-ones/
Citando:
"“My Love” does have a sense of majesty, almost despite itself. It chugs and twinkles with the slow confidence of an old torch song, while the orchestra, arranged by McCartney’s old Beatles collaborator George Martin, swells and contracts. Wings guitarist Henry McCollough, late of Spooky Tooth and the Grease Band, plays a nicely twangy solo. (He improvised it on the spot because he didn’t like the solo that McCartney had written for him, and McCartney ended up loving what he did with it. Later in 1973, McCollough would end up quitting Wings the day they were supposed to go to Nigeria to record Band On The Run.)"
2019-04: Video perdido de Beatles no Top of the Pops...
... aparece, filmado por uma 8mm:
https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-47854806
Citando:
"An 11-second clip of the Beatles' only live appearance on the Top of the Pops, which was thought to have been be lost, has been unearthed in Mexico.
The silent snippet is all that exists of the Fab Four miming to Paperback Writer on the BBC pop show in 1966.
The original tapes were not kept, but it was recorded by a viewer filming their TV set with an 8mm camera.
The footage was shot by a family in Liverpool and eventually fell into the hands of a collector in Mexico.
The collector contacted Kaleidoscope, a Birmingham-based organisation specialising in locating previously missing TV footage.
"I think if you're a Beatles fans, it's the holy grail," Kaleidoscope's Chris Perry told BBC entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson.
"People thought it was gone forever because videotape wasn't kept in 1966. To find it all these years later was stunning.""

https://maisfutebol.iol.pt/reportagem/the-beatles/fc-porto-na-terra-dos-beatles-nenhum-era-adepto-do-liverpool
Citando:
Andámos no Liverpool Institute.

2019-03: Segunda parte de documentário apareceu (Bed in)

In English:
https://www.bangkokpost.com/lifestyle/music/1654836/unknown-footage-of-john-lennon-yoko-ono-resurfaces
Citando:
Um empregado, Jan Hovers, salvou as imagens in extremis.
