Is it normal that a band that ended on 1970 still gets radio airplay and frequent references in the social media almost every day here in Europe? This is a very personal and somewhat infomal logbook of some of these references to The Beatles as a proof of their everlasting relevance and continuing influence over the years. As if they needed. Also includes highlights of promotions and some additional info on the band. Mainly in Portuguese (sorry guys).

2018-11: Documentário sobre o Imagine
Sobre o recente documentário sobre o Imagine:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2018/11/24/john-yoko-us-sky-review-lennons-message-peace-love-people-power/
Citando:
"The spirit of revolution was alive and well in John & Yoko: Above Us Only Sky (Channel 4), a documentary celebrating John Lennon’s peace, love and occasionally anger-laden album Imagine and, in particular, the much-admired title track.
This wasn’t so much the untold story of the making of a classic album as a fascinating addendum to an iconic story which had already been told in the companion film released by Lennon, Yoko Ono and director Steve Gebhardt in 1972, and fleshed out even more in Andrew Solt’s tribute Gimme Some Truth."

2018-11: Um relato dos Beatles na India
Em primeira mão... As cerca de 40 canções compostas lá deram origem ao White Album (e a muitas canções editadas mais tarde a solo por cada um dos Beatles - Jealous Guy, Not Guilty, etc.):

Citando:
"IN 1968 the shockwaves from the Beatles trip to India to visit Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of transcendental meditation, reverberated around the world. The Fab Four were not the only celebrities to make the trip to the sparsely constructed ashram overlooking the River Ganges. Actress Mia Farrow, Beach Boy Mike Love and folk singer Donovan also attended but the Beatles were far and away the most famous."
(...)
"Maharishi asked George to tell Deepak the real story and he revealed the Beatles were asked to leave because members of their party were using drugs and alcohol.
The topic turned to the Beatles' Ed Sullivan Show appearance, during which no crime was reported in the USA.
Maharishi exclaimed, "When I heard this, I knew the Beatles were angels on Earth... It doesn't matter what John said or did, I could never be upset with angels." George then broke down and wept.
Later, George phoned Deepak and said: "A huge karmic baggage has been lifted from me, because I didn't want to lie.""

Citando:
"It’s The Beatles! According to YouGov, 73% of the UK public has a positive opinion of the Fab Four, while 61% favour The Rolling Stones.
Meanwhile, both bands had very low negativity with the British public, with just 10% and 12% disliking the bands."
2018-11: A vergonha do assassino?
A transcrição da audiência para a liberdade condicional (entretanto negada mais uma vez) do "senhor" foi publicada:
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/nov/15/mark-david-chapman-john-lennon-killer-parole-hearing-transcript-shame
Citando:
"“I was too far in,” Chapman told the board. “I do remember having the thought of, ‘Hey, you have got the album now. Look at this, he signed it, just go home.’ But there was no way I was just going to go home.”
As in previous parole hearings, Chapman went into detail about the shooting and his regret over the “senseless” act. Chapman claimed he sought notoriety and felt no animosity for Lennon, even though he loaded his gun with more lethal hollow-point bullets.
“I secured those bullets to make sure he would be dead,” he said. “It was immediately after the crime that I was concerned that he did not suffer.”"
